CLAP

DIFC GATE VILLAGE | TRADE CENTRE

Best for: a cool date spot

Looking for something special? This sensory Japanese restaurant never fails to impress. The open kitchen lets you see the chefs at their craft and the outdoor terrace offers incredible views of the skyline. Their business lunch is a great deal if you’re visiting on a weekday, with a reasonable price tag (it’ll set you back just AED115 for three courses). The seabass is fresh and delicious and their wagyu skewers are a must-try. Their cocktails are original and well-balanced, the fruity New Wave our favourite. We recommend booking as it’s always busy, and rightly so!

THE NICE GUY

JUMEIRAH EMIRATES TOWERS | DIFC

Best for: nightlife with an emphasis on chic

It’s first international opening, this Hollywood celebrity hotspot offers comforting American classics with an Italian twist. The decadent decor and wood-panelling transports you to 1970s America, with elegant cocktails adding to the vibe. The pizzas are divine, and Mo’s meatballs is our pick of the appetisers. Fancy something sweet? The tiramisu is one of the best we’ve had in the city. As night falls, the music dials up and the lights go down: you’ll feel that stylish nightclub vibe. They don’t take walk-ins so make sure you book in advance!

TANDOOR TINA

25 HOURS HOTEL | TRADE CENTRE STREET

Best for: Indian cuisine that will make you linger

This bright and stylish Indian restaurant is located in the funky 25 Hours Hotel and specialises in cooking over fire. The food is fresh and champions high quality ingredients, the colours a feast for the eye. There’s a wide range of options here beyond the varied menu: check out their afternoon tea, Tina’s Tacos on a Tuesday or opt for Tina’s Express lunch if you’re visiting in the week. Service is attentive and friendly and the staff have good knowledge of the menu. You won’t want to rush out of this one!

Not feeling fancy? Head to Fibber Magees for an authentic experience in the flagship Irish pub in Dubai. Good, hearty food with a friendly atmosphere, Fibber’s has a packed entertainment schedule with live music and sports showing daily. Prices are reasonable and there are great deals to be had throughout the week, including a daily, eight-hour happy hour from noon to 8PM, Monday Madness, All Ireland night on Tuesdays (with pints from AED28!) and Thirsty Thursday brunch. LEEN’S

JUMEIRAH EMIRATES TOWERS | DIFC

Best for: museum views and the perfect pic!

No list of places to eat near the Museum of the Future would be complete without Leen’s! With iconic views of the museum, it’s the perfect spot for ‘that’ photo. We love their breakfast - the Truffle Avo & Eggs are perfectly balanced and the Breakfast Wrap always hits the spot. Portion sizes on the lunch and dinner menu are on the smaller side, the perfect reason to order a couple of dishes to share. With happy hour 4 - 7PM, you can enjoy a cold beverage on their terrace and watch the sun go down as the museum lights up - a magical sight!

WOK BOYZ

AL DURRAH TOWER | SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD

Best for: a quick bite with a side of vibes

For a more laid back and casual meal near the museum, WOK BOYZ are serving Asian street food packed full of flavour. The menu offers all the classics you would expect: Nasi Goreng, Pad Thai and Ramen make the highlight reel. In our opinion? No visit here would be complete without trying the infamous create your own wok - build your own dish, layering base, veg, protein, sauce and your favourite toppings! Keep in mind - while there is no indoor seating, their outdoor area is under a street-art mural, giving the street-food vibe an even more authentic feel!

Open: 11.30AM - 11.45PM Sunday - Thursday | 11.30AM - 1.15AM Friday - Saturday

Bookings: No need to book

LA CANTINE DU FAUBOURG

JUMEIRAH EMIRATES TOWERS | DIFC

Best for: seafood lovers (and their mates)

An elegant French restaurant by day and a bustling hot-spot at night, this one is classy without being stuffy. You’ll find beautifully presented, delicious seafood - think Gillardeau oysters, sea bass carpaccio and salmon tartare - and for our non-seafood fans, try the beef short rib, lamb chops and rib-eye steak. It mightn’t be the cheapest spot, but the quality is excellent and it’s a luxurious venue that’s worth a splurge. Visiting in cooler months? The terrace offers great views of the DIFC skyscrapers.

Open: 12PM - 2AM Monday - Friday (open until 3AM on Friday) | Saturday 12PM - 5PM and 7PM - 3AM
