Weekend Roast At Offside, Jumeirah Saadiyat Island

We love a roast but too often the quality of the meat just isn't there. Not so the Offside weekend roast: not only is the food good, it's definitely one of the best in town in terms of value for money.

For AED135, you get a huge plate of food with great quality chicken, beef, or vegetarian, roast potatoes and sweet potato, carrots and parsnips, a gratifyingly large pot of gravy and not one, but two Yorkshire puddings! The beef was the best quality roast beef I've had in Abu Dhabi to date and there was tons of it - it certainly didn't feel like it had done one too many rounds of the top paddock!

There's an absolutely incredible singer who never misses a note or a lyric, and the gentlemen of the family were happy to be watching football on the big screen while pretending to attempt conversation

It was a little bit too warm still to sit outside, but once it gets decent, he'll be performing outdoors in the garden, making for a perfect afternoon in the sun with great food at a fabulous price.

Oh, and not part of the roast, but the sticky toffee pudding was glorious!
