While the name might suggest trendy corporate types converging for lunch meetings, as far as we’re concerned there is only one type of business going on here: the business of excellent food and even better value!

Whether you’re brightening up your work day with a fab meal, have visitors in town and want to show them a highlight reel of the Abu Dhabi dining scene for less, or simply fancy lingering over a long lunch with friends, you’ll find options aplenty here!

Choose between Le Petit menu (AED135 per person for a starter and a main) or Le Grand menu (AED180 per person for a starter, a main and dessert) - one look at dessert makes that decision for us!

The starters are delish - we love the roasted broccoli soup and sea bass ceviche - while mains are equally impressive. Homemade rigatoni pasta arrabbiata, cod fillet, chicken breast with tarragon sauce and grilled sirloin with mustard sauce will tickle every taste. Round it out with the very decadent and filling chocolate Itakuja and passionfruit flan for dessert (we told you, it’s a must!) and it will be a très magnifique afternoon indeed!

Contemporary Japanese in a chic setting is the order of the day for Zuma’s Ebisu lunch. The starters alone will have your mouth watering - think eggplant and spinach gyoza, beef and green chilli skewers with smoked chilli soy or a maki, sashimi or nigiri selection - while the mains are plentiful and equally hard to choose between: the lineup includes grilled Australian Wagyu beef sirloin with truffle mayo, miso marinated black cod donburi and grilled seabass with red yuzu pepper.

There are plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options, and the best part? You can choose to express your lunch, opting just for miso and a main - a taste of Zuma for a steal at AED79.

The lush interiors and waterfront views get us every time, and COYA knows how to deliver (literally - have you tried the cocktail that comes to your table in a smoke-and-light-filled glass case?), so it’s no surprise their business lunch is one to remember.

Choose two starters - Wagyu baos, seabass croquetas and anticuchos de pollo, anyone? - and a main, which comes along with soup and a side. Lunch here can enter ‘choose your own adventure’ territory - you can upgrade your main, add on dessert and splash out with some drink specials for some WOW-factor if you are feeling fancy!

MAMSHA AL SAADIYAT

Beachfront views and top notch Japanese fare? Look no further! We love the variety: plenty of choices across both starters and mains - and a good mix for vegetarians as well - won’t leave you hungry. We love the lightness of their shrimp tempura and yasai kakiage vegetables as starters, while the katsu beef main is simply mouthwatering! Just when you think you’re done, it’s time to choose an ice cream or sorbet scoop for dessert.

At just AE99 for miso soup, two courses and a scoop of ice cream, you won’t feel guilty ordering a cocktail on top - and you won’t regret it either. Their mixology is on point, and the mocktails are delicious too!

CONRAD ABU DHABI ETIHAD TOWERS

Famous for their long, sumptuous lunches, meet as the Italians do for a business lunch full of Mediterranean flavours. Choose between two or three courses - but who really wants to skip dessert? Starters include crispy calamari & shrimp (with proper garlic lemon aioli) and wood-fired eggplant parmigiana with buffalo mozzarella. Mains are equally drool-worthy: look out for Low & Slow (tagliatelle pasta with a luscious 6-hour meat ragu) and Mamma Sofia’s Paccheri (paccheri pasta topped with a mouth-watering ragu of beef cheek and confit onion).

Upgrades are available for starters and mains: for AED15-35 extra you can broaden your choices, or add dessert for AED15. Finish off with an espresso to combat the post-lunch slump!

This might be the best value business lunch in Abu Dhabi and if you love Mexican food, this is a great one to settle into to. Get 2 starters from a great selection and pair them with a sizzlingly good fajita, a plump burrito or, if you're feeling the need for something lighter, a tostada salad with either chicken, beef or crisp, fresh vegetables. At just AED95 and available all afternoon, this is a great casual business lunch on Al Maryah Island.

The Omakase business lunch at this high end Japanese restaurant, bar and lounge is one of the best business lunches in Abu Dhabi and includes 10 outstanding courses. Self-styled Japanese haute cuisine for eclectic foodies, the innovative and impeccable offering at 99 Sushi Bar has earned them a legion of fans - us included! - and a Michelin Star to boot.

What better way to dip a toe in than with their 8-course omakase menu? Start with an excellent miso soup and edamame, then move to some of the best maki rolls - the unagi maki is particularly good. The gorgeously marbled Australian wagyu is melt-in-the-mouth sublime as is the mochi to finish. Service is exemplary and the views over the Al Maryah basin are the perfect for a swift business lunch or a catch-up with a good friend.

Business lunch at Flamingo Room is always a good idea. Step into the chic dining room, with water views and African vibes and enjoy some of the outstanding menu for less. Highlights are the tuna tartare and the calamari but the sea bass for main is absolutely exceptional - it's piquant and texturally interesting, a must try. Not included in the business lunch price, but a lovely way to finish, is Liezl's lemon meringue tart, definitely one of the best desserts in Abu Dhabi.
