Taste of Dubai - The Best Thing To Do In Dubai This Weekend

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, don’t miss Taste of Dubai in Media City Amphitheatre running from 14th - 16th February. There are great food options but tons of other great things to do besides eat and drink: it’s well worth heading down with all the family (especially as kids under 12 are free to enter!).

LIVE COOKING SHOWS WITH CELEBRITY CHEFS

The live cooking shows are a real hit of the weekend, with celebrity chefs like Marco Pierre White, Annabel Karmel and the best patisserie chefs in the universe, Eric Lanlard and Cameron Lamb showcasing their talents and giving you the chance to have a go yourself! Be sure to catch Fred Casagrande of Smoking Beards fame as he barbeques his way to deliciousness!

On Sunday evening there’s even a Dibba Bay oyster shuck-off between the chefs which is not to be missed. 

WHAT'S GOOD TO EAT?!

There are an incredible 16 food vendors to sample, including the infamous Duck & Waffle, City Social and Rhodes W1. The food is high quality, with small portions to sample, with most dishes costing around AED30. It’s a fantastic way to try a variety of Dubai’s best dishes in a laid-back and casual setting. Our favourites included Miss Lily’s jerk chicken, which packed a punch, and the classic beef burger from Lush Burger DXB, which was incredible. We also loved the pizza from Funkoolio - don't miss it. There are kid-friendly options at every stall too which makes choosing food for the little ones stress-free!

In terms of drinks, highlights include the craft beer, the champagne and an incredible wine tasting masterclass too. From the gin bar to the craft beer stand and even the halal Arabian Ale (alcohol free) you’ll find a beverage to suit your mood.

The entertainment is varied and inclusive, with pockets of live music and a range of engaging shows with everything from circus acts to balloon bending. There’s no central stage but instead every area has its own vibe - from a live saxophonist to a DJ blasting the tunes, there’s an ambience for everyone.

The best bit is the atmosphere - it’s so welcoming and friendly. There are so many stalls advertising their products in exciting and engaging ways. It’s great fun for adults and children alike with so many games and fun activities including spin the wheel, carnival games, hit the button and more. Most fun of all, there are lots of freebies to be had - we came home with our arms full of merchandise.

If you're feeling flush, the VIP section is the way to go since it means a sit down on great couches, and a ton of shade along with exclusive cocktails and mocktails, and food and drinks vouchers included.
