Cafe Sushi is a real find for anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. With typically understated decor, it lets the food speak for itself - and speak it does! Each and every dish was flavourful, fresh and beautifully prepared and we can’t speak enough about the quality.

The unlimited sushi offer runs every day and it’s a case of ‘don’t eat beforehand’ - there’s a ton of food! For starters, miso soup and salted edamame were served, followed by a sashimi platter with salmon, yellow fin tuna and tuna, all deliciously fresh. Be warned: the sushi conveyor is entirely tempting and perfect for anyone who has a true love for sushi - take what you’d like, it’s all part of the package!

The blow-torched salmon rolls must be one of Abu Dhabi’s favourite sushi dishes - it certainly was ours! We loved the dynamite rolls, the tempura sushi and the equally delectable salmon and tuna nigiri. The chirashi bowl is a meal in itself: a bowl filled with fresh avocado, chunks of salmon and tuna and other vegetables brought together with a teriyaki sauce. It was incredible and we’d go back just for that. Finish with a small slice of matcha milk cake, a great sweet ending.

If you don’t fancy the unlimited deal, the main menu offers some surprisingly great options, with a 20% BB+ discount available. The katsu chicken burger (AED98) came with a crispy chicken breast, salad and katsu sauce to dip into on the side while the seafood yakisoba was a great mix of udon noodles, Asian vegetables and wakame sauce (AED118): it was a huge bowl and we can report, we didn’t nearly finish it!

The vibe at lunchtime is amazing and testament to this place’s popularity, almost all the tables were full. We sat at high tables beside the conveyor and watched the happy chefs cutting and rolling, placing new and fresh dishes every couple of minutes: it was a really good experience, good for families as well as the numbers of couples enjoying great food.
