SO WHAT’S THE DEAL?

4 courses - your choice of appetiser, starter, main course and dessert from a curated selection

5 drinks - choose from beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks

It’ll set you back AED199 per person, and is available from 12.30PM daily.

Yes - 4 courses and 5 drinks! You almost need a periodic alarm to remind you ‘save room, save room for the next course’ - and it needs to kick in from the minute the breadbasket is set down, the smell of fresh garlic bread luring you in à la Hansel and Gretel!

APPETISERS

As pretty as a picture, the tomato bruschetta was placed in front of us, leaving us to dither over taking photos or taking a bite first - we hurriedly did both, the eggplant, tomatoes and burrata cheese disappearing as quickly as they landed. Smoked salmon en croute and goats cheese & roast beef en croute performed similar speedy disappearing acts, the goats cheese incredibly moreish.

STARTERS

The irony of calling these starters isn’t lost on us - this menu is a marathon, not a sprint - but you’ll struggle to choose. Salad de jardin is fresh and light, the citrus segments offering a delightful burst to each bite. Repeated dives into the tuna tartare had us intrigued, enjoying the inclusion of surprise elements avocado, mango and kiwi which provided a gorgeous balance to the fish. Soupe a l’oignon in a word? Yum! This is a firm favourite. We’re big fans of cauliflower everything, and loved the pomegranate jewels scattered over the cauliflower chaud froid.

DRINKS

An intermission from the food while we caught our breath, let's talk drinks! Serving up 5 drinks with the BB+ menu, you’ll be glad for the chance to do the rounds. First up, cocktails! We love a good bramble, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Gin-based and topped with raspberry, it’s deliciously fresh and fruity. The Cosmopolitan is light - perfect for sipping on a hot summer day - while margi fans will make short work of the signature margarita.

Mocktails are available for our non-drinkers (along with soft drinks), and they really aren’t an afterthought, holding their own with variety in flavours and exquisite presentation: butterfly lemonade has a delicious, tart kick before the sweetness, Mamsha breeze is reminiscent of the watermelon lollies you loved as a kid and garden party is the perfect antidote to this heat.

MAIN COURSE

The main event is a round-up of all stars. Craving pasta? Fettuccine aux champignons will fill the pasta-sized hole in your stomach and put a smile on your face. Steak à la Parisienne is cooked to perfection, the complex flavours of its Café de Paris butter both a perfect topping for the steak and a sauce we couldn't stop dipping the frites into. Satisfy a big hunger with the chicken escalope: light, crispy crumb and tender chicken had us all diving in for second and third helpings. A sleeper hit, the hammour grenobloise was sublime, and would be a repeat order next visit.

DESSERT

Did you save some room? We warned you - and dessert is definitely worth loosening the belt a notch or two! The test of a great crème brûlée, it had a proper crack when we dug in. A raspberry coulis-filled concoction of cream and meringue, the pavlova was lovely. If you want wow factor with taste to match? Tour de profiteroles is your jam - fairy floss, ice cream and a chocolate sauce pour-over awaits. We can’t choose a favourite - so take your friends and share all three!

A BB+ menu we know we’ll return to time and again, this one has something for everyone: big appetites won’t go hungry, vegetarian options stack up just as well as the rest and no course is an afterthought! The great value and pocket-friendly price point means you don’t need to save this one for a special occasion - but like any visit to Raclette, it may well become one!
