The new BB+ menu at Valgerand Nordic Grill is the perfect way to make the most of the sea views at Mamsha without breaking the bank and includes options for vegetarians as well as lovers of seafood and meat.

Sink into the comfy seats on the terrace and enjoy the beachside ambiance - if you're lucky, you might even spot dolphins doing their thing - and prepare yourself for a stunning meal.

Start with the homemade seeded rye bread, served with a selection of delicious spreads, but try not to load up on this as a ton of food is about to arrive!

There are three starters to choose from  and all of them will leave you wanting more. The huge pillowy golden blinis were laden with  excellent smoked salmon (cold-smoked in-house by Chef Hannes) and a huge dollop of creme fraiche and chives - yum! The chicken liver mousse served on toasted brioche was incredibly silky and paired beautifully with the sweetness of the cranberry topping and bite of the pickled red onion. The carrot soup with a parsnip crisp crouton and topped with seeds was smooth, rich, and had a hint of smokiness - and felt really indulgent. Every single one of these starters is firmly on the repeat order list! 

For mains, choose between the swoon-worthy beef cheeks - unbelievably tender and flavourful and served with the fluffiest mashed potato and rich beef jus, or the seafood en papillote - a perfectly seasoned parcel packed full of flakey fish, juicy prawns, tender mussels with potato and vegetables, ideal for those wanting a lighter meal. Veggie fans will love the perfectly grilled charcoal cauliflower, served with romesco sauce, which had a bit of a kick and a hint of smokiness that gave it real depth.

Dessert is either cheesecake - topped with plump cherries that contrast perfectly with the creaminess of the filling and sweetness of the biscuit base, or juicy Estonian plums served with caramelised nuts and a moreish whipped marzipan cream - either option is a perfect end to a gorgeous meal by the sea.

This is a great spot to go with a group that is happy to share - as, trust us, you’ll want to try a bit of everything.
