Eating out for iftar every night can become a pricey affair, while cooking every night when you’re famished isn’t much fun either. Don’t worry - we’re here to help!

We’ve rounded up some cheap and cheerful options under AED100 to help you break your fast on a budget. And the best part? They're cheap enough that you can try the lot!

TEN11

Mamsha | Marina Mall | Khalifa Park | Al Ain – Jimi

Iftar with gorgeous beach views? Yes, please! TEN11’s Ramadan menu lets you build your perfect meal—drink, soup, salad, main & dessert. We recently tried this one - take a look here - and the food and views are equally fab. The lamb mansef and Iraqi dolma were great, and we especially loved their desserts! Servings are generous and it’s got a serious wow-factor - you can dine overlooking the beach if you’re at the Mamsha branch for just AED109 per person - that’s hard to beat!

Open: daily | available from sunset

West To West Kitchen

Al Danah

Break your fast with the hearty flavours of West Africa and the Caribbean this Holy Month with West To West Kitchen. We’re especially keen on these iftar menus, as they include both vegan and non-vegan options. Popular with vegetarian and vegan foodies, you can tuck into a filling meal without compromising on flavour or settling for the salad bar yet again.

We love their Ramadan concept: build your own iftar menu, ranging from iftar for one, with starters, a main, a side, drink and dessert setting you back as little as AED100, to a small party (feeding up to 5) and all the way to the Grand Feast that serves 20 (from AED1600). You’ll secure the best price by ordering directly (iftar for one is AED100 direct, or AED130 on delivery apps) if you’re being budget conscious! What dishes can you look forward to? Jamaican jerk chicken, Caribbean goat curry, Sierra Leonean chicken groundnut stew (one of our personal favourites), Jamaican ital stew and Caribbean plantain curry all make the cut, and don’t miss the West to West banana bread or sticky toffee pudding with toffee date syrup for dessert.

Open: daily | from 12PM til late

Price: from AED100 for iftar for one

Ramadan season is here and Jones the Grocer is plating up some sharing platters for two that will help set the mood as the sun sets. Setting you back AED199 per platter, they serve two - bringing your meal in at under AED100 per person, which we love to see. Choose from a meat platter (grilled bazar-rubbed flank steak, harissa-marinated chicken and spiced beef kofta) or seafood platter (whole fried seabream, garlic and chili prawn skewers and crispy calamari) accompanied by roasted harissa veggies, golden rice, salad, and a tasty sauce on the side. Jarousha Restaurant

Millennium Al Rawdah Hotel

Ramadan is the perfect time to try this popular new-ish Palestinian restaurant in Millennium Al Rawdah Hotel. Make the most of their lovely terrace while the weather is still onside, or take a seat in the nicely furnished interior: colourful seating and lavish touches are complimented by their pretty Ramadan decorations.

All the usual suspects make the cut for this iftar menu: soup to start, various salads and cold mezze items, kibbe, cheese sambousek and vegetable samousek, and three Arabic desserts. The main dish changes with two daily choices - think the likes of a well-spiced musakhan (a Palestinian dish of roasted chicken baked with onions, spices, saffron, and fried pine nuts, all served over taboon bread) - to fill you up and keep the menu fresh.

Timing: daily | open from sunset until 2AM
