Brooki Bakehouse Lands In Abu Dhabi

Beloved baker, TikTok sensation and all round wonderful human Brooke Bellamy has arrived in Abu Dhabi - and she’s brought her viral cookies along for the ride! Actually, that’s not quite true - the cookies didn’t board the plane in Brisbane. Instead, she’s hard at work baking them fresh every day until the 31st of December at Abu Dhabi’s Mother of the Nation Festival on the Corniche beachfront.

With over 1.9 million followers and 70.8 million likes on TikTok, another 978K on Instagram and 639K YouTube subscribers, Brooke’s friendly ‘day in the life’ videos are a down-to-earth antidote to the dumpster fire social media can often become. Her cult following sees massive lines form outside the Brisbane bakery until they sell out each day, and her cookbook Bake with Brooki has become a bestseller. 

Her many well-deserved accolades aside, she is also even lovelier in person than she seems online. Peeling off her gloves for a brief break from cookie duties, her beaming smile and genuine warmth make you want to sit down for a cuppa with her.

From the sunny shores of Brisbane to the even sunnier beachside pop-up in Abu Dhabi, the @brookibakehouse handle has elicited the kind of reaction the UAE loves to jump on board with, but for once the hype is very justified. 

A simplified cookie menu is on offer this December: bestsellers Red Velvet, Biscoff, Choc Chip and Triple Choc are joined by a MOTN special New York Cookie, heavy on dark chocolate chips and walnuts. At AED35 a pop, they aren’t going for pocket change - but they’re on par with MOTN prices and for your own taste of cookie fame, they’re worth it.

The collective excitement in our group chats (and IRL chats) since the Brooki Bakehouse pop-up was announced has echoed around the city, and if the turnout on day one of Mother of the Nation was anything to go by, Brooke is in for a BIG month. The lines haven’t let up all weekend long, and the smell of cookies as you wait is enough to entice you to double or triple your order. No longer is a designer handbag the most coveted accessory in Abu Dhabi: instead, it’s a pastel pink Brooki bag (or two, or three!).
