MOONRISE 

EDEN HOUSE | AL SATWA

The Michelin-starred, award winning Moonrise promises a memorable date night experience: their 12 course set menu is AED950 per person or AED1,300 for grape pairing and is the only dinner available - no a la carte here! An intimate restaurant with only 12 seats, you get to watch Chef Soleman Haddad and his team prepare the dishes in front of you. Currently on the menu is ‘Roots’ - a dish which showcases local tomatoes, grilled market prawns and the popular ‘grilled cheese’ - 36-month aged Parmigiano-reggiano, black pepper emulsion on Hokkaido milk bread with black garlic and truffle. Little accommodation can be made for dietary requirements so this isn’t one for people with allergies or intolerances, something to keep in mind if you’re planning a surprise dinner.

WAKAME 

SOFITEL DUBAI DOWNTOWN | SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD

Offering modern Asian cuisine in a sleek and sophisticated setting, Wakame is a perfect date night destination. Their menu is extensive and offers everything from sashimi, maki, dim sum and wok dishes. The main plates are a generous size - it’s easy to over-order! We recommend the volcano maki and the crispy duck salad, both taste sensations. The drinks menu is large and not too pricey for the setting - you can get a glass of wine for AED50, draft beer for AED55 and cocktails range from AED65 - AED75.

NOBU 

ATLANTIS | THE PALM JUMEIRAH 

Located in the iconic Atlantis The Palm, Nobu offers an Asian fine dining experience with a view. For first time diners, they recommend trying 2 or 3 cold dishes and then 2 or 3 hot ones. Alternatively, give the Signature Omakase tasting menu a try - at AED595 per person, it includes highlights like a salmon taco, yellowtail carpaccio and their infamous Nobu black cod. Prices are on the steeper side for portion size but it’s to be expected with a name as famous as Nobu. Definitely a memorable experience and one sure to impress your date.

DINNER BY HESTON BLUMENTHAL DUBAI

ATLANTIS THE ROYAL | PALM JUMEIRAH 

This highly-anticipated restaurant is new on the Dubai dining scene. Coming from the renowned creative British chef Heston Blumenthal, known for his visually stunning, ambitious dishes, you’ll find Dinner is no different. The quirky menu is based on British recipes going back to the 1300s - fans of his will be ready for unexpected elements to crop up when you least expect them. Highlights include the Hereford rib-eye steak and the tipsy cake for dessert: his twist on the pineapple upside down cake, a British school canteen favourite! It’s bursting with flavour, so save room for this one. The experience isn’t cheap, but the quality and fanfare of the whole occasion is fantastic and absolutely worth it for a special occasion.

MIMI KAKUSHE 

FOUR SEASONS RESORT | JUMEIRAH 

With its decadent decor styled on 1920s Osaka and its sultry soundtrack, Mimi Kakushe is the perfect destination for an intimate date night dinner. The atmosphere is lively and the jazz soundtrack is the perfect accompaniment to the food. The Japanese-inspired menu adds some playful twists to traditional favourites - don’t miss the rock shrimp popcorn tempura, the wagyu beef tataki and the hokkaido scallop.
